Password-reset mail is sent from our own address now, and the trailer plays on the front page.

  • If a reset code does not show up, check your spam folder and ask for another.
  • The trailer plays on the front page — no download needed.
BALANCE SEPTEMBER 14, 2026

Doors and windows decay with the rest of the base

When the cupboard runs out of a material, everything made of it decays — doors, windows, gates and embrasures included.

  • A door, window, gate or embrasure now decays when the cupboard cannot pay for it.
  • From full, wood takes 3 hours to fall, metal 8 hours and HQM 12 hours.
  • There is no grace period, so keep wood, stone, metal fragments and HQM stocked.
  • Look at any piece or deployable to read its health before you leave.
FIX SEPTEMBER 14, 2026

Drops stay put, and the pad has new defaults

Dropped items stop falling through walls, adapters snap onto containers, and the controller ships with better defaults and a full-window map.

  • A dropped item lands at your feet instead of being thrown, and it no longer falls through a wall.
  • Storage adapters snap onto the side of furnaces and other containers, and a container with one attached asks you to remove it first.
  • D-pad up opens your inventory and closes it again, along with any container you had open.
  • B closes a window without dropping you into a crouch.
  • New pad defaults: a 5% dead zone and x2.2 look sensitivity, with readable Xbox button icons.
  • The world map fills the window, and up close every island shows its name.
WORLD SEPTEMBER 13, 2026

Every archipelago has an address

You can name where you live and where you are going, and zoom the map out to all 99,000 islands.

  • Every archipelago carries a shareable address, like East America H15-21.
  • Every island has a name of its own, like H15-21 West Island.
  • The map zooms in four steps, from your archipelago out to the whole world.
  • The last step shows all 99,000 islands and the six continents at once.

Barbwire holds climbers, and the pad is fully mapped

High external walls and gates are topped with barbwire, upkeep is paid in four materials only, and every action has a button on the controller.

  • Barbwire crowns high external walls and gates in wood and stone.
  • It hurts and slows anyone climbing, but only while they move — stop, heal and continue.
  • The tool cupboard now bills wood, stone, metal fragments and HQM only.
  • Gears no longer count toward upkeep at all.
  • Every action reaches the pad now: voice on View, chat and team chat on View chords, map and inventory on the d-pad — and look sensitivity goes up to 6x.
  • Toggle crouch is on by default.
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 12, 2026

Bases repair themselves, and the motorboat needs an engine

Damaged pieces heal from the cupboard on their own, and a motorboat now takes an engine you have to go and find.

  • A damaged wall, floor or door repairs itself from the cupboard's stock, and deployables in cupboard range repair for free.
  • Repairs spend the same stock upkeep does, so a damaged base drains its cupboard faster than an untouched one.
  • A repair always leaves one unit in the cupboard, so healing can never drop your base out of protection.
  • Nothing heals while it is being hit — leave a piece alone for half a minute and it starts coming back.
  • A motorboat needs a Motorboat Engine from red keycard crates, plus metal fragments, HQM and gears.
  • Kayaks and motorboats stay put when you leave them; the raft still drifts.
BALANCE SEPTEMBER 11, 2026

Headshots are headshots, and bullets fly 500 m

Shots are read against twenty body parts, so a headshot is a headshot and range matters.

  • Hit detection reads twenty separate body parts, headshots included.
  • Gun ranges are tuned and a bullet now travels up to 500 m.
  • The death screen can drop you anywhere on your own continent, and every bag in the list says which continent it sits on.
  • Sprinklers need a hose run to them before they water anything.
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 10, 2026

Sixty to an island, and a cleaner voice channel

An island now holds as many as sixty players, and proximity voice comes through clean in a crowd.

  • An island holds up to 60 players at once, and new arrivals spread onto another island before it fills.
  • Voice is hold-to-talk and carries about 40 m to anyone nearby, enemies included.
  • A dead player's mic goes quiet, so nobody talks from the grave.
  • Team chat stays with your team of up to eight.
  • A downed player can no longer pocket loot off the ground while crawling.
  • Your melee swing starts the moment you click instead of a beat later — the damage still lands when the swing connects.
BALANCE SEPTEMBER 9, 2026

Metal walls shrug off bullets

Melee and bullet damage to a building now depends on what the wall is made of.

  • Damage to a piece is read off its material, so a metal or armored wall ignores gunfire.
  • Opening a hard base means rockets, C4, satchels or explosive ammo — and a line of sight.
  • High-velocity rockets now do their own damage to a base, apart from the standard rocket.
  • Berry seeds for the planters, and barricade walls to slow a push.
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 8, 2026

A quieter start, and a base that feeds itself

New players now begin on an outer island, and planters, sprinklers and cooked food all behave the way you expect.

  • New players spawn on an outer island instead of the busiest shore.
  • A sprinkler whose water source is empty or unpowered now stops spraying instead of pretending to water.
  • Berry bushes grow in the wild, and planters keep every drop poured into them.
  • Food values are rebalanced, so what you cook is worth the wood you burned.
  • Industrial adapters pull fairly instead of one container taking everything.
WORLD SEPTEMBER 6, 2026

One world, 99,000 islands

The separate worlds are gone: every player is now in the same world, across six continents.

  • One shared, persistent world for everyone — 19,800 archipelagos, 99,000 islands.
  • Six continents, each served by game servers in that part of the world.
  • Servers scale with the crowd, so islands wake and sleep with demand.
  • An island with nobody on it sleeps and wakes exactly as it was left.
  • Every island sits on one grid that wraps at every edge, so there is no map border to run into.
WORLD SEPTEMBER 1, 2026

ShatterSea is live

The islands are open — ShatterSea went live on the internet on September 1.

  • ShatterSea is playable on Windows PC, and the download is on this site.
  • Start with a rock, build a base, and hold a shore of your own.
  • Team up with as many as eight players, with team chat and voice.
